Take a screenshot of your comment, print it out, and staple it to your Warrior Novel Reading Notes for the fourth section of the book. This assignment will be half of your grade for the fourth section reading notes.
You must post at least once. You may certainly post more than once! It's my hope that you guys will get some good debates going about these novels.
-Male power vs. female power (massively complex)
-Where Okonkwo reinforces his culture and where he rejects his culture. As ever, what are his motivations?
-Defamiliarization vs. making the strange familiar--each is done in the novel. Who is this story for? What is its goal?
-Collisions between cultures--where and why do disagreements happen? IS one culture "bad" and in need of reforming? (If so, in what respect?)
-What is Okonkwo's tragic flaw, and how do we see it manifest?
Of course, you may write about any other relevant topic of your choosing.
Thanks! Have fun! Fun of the literary variety!
