It's a good example of the REAL reason you should study literature. You know, joy. We've been adding on to the original premise on my facebook page. Feel free to do the same in the comments section, here.

Just kidding. If you pass this class, this will be your last first day at LASA.
This website is your friend, and you are responsible for checking it often. On the home page (right here), you'll find updates, information about class, fun side-conversations, and the occasional assignment. On the calendar page, you'll find due dates. On the documents page, you'll find every class assignment that I have in electronic format. You can also get my powerpoints here, but not the lecture notes--that's what class is for. (Also, lecture notes are cryptic. Class is not. I hope.) We'll run this as much like a college course as possible, which means lots of talking about books and workshopping our writing. You know--THE VERY BEST CLASS ACTIVITIES EVER! Oh, one more side-note: If you find interesting articles or...well...things, really that relate to what we do in class, please feel free to bring them in. Just kidding, one more side-note (This is how we operate, here): If you ever want to comment on these posts--you know, appropriately--go right ahead! I check the site fairly often, too. |
AuthorChristina Swan teaches AP English IV to seniors at the Liberal Arts and Science Academy, in Austin, Texas. In her free time, she likes to watch sci fi shows on netflix. Over the summer she wrote some articles and gave some presentations in a desperate attempt to get media badges to some science fiction conventions. She also taught herself how to sew pants and build bookcases. Archives
