Yesterday in class we talked about the difference between a hyphen and a dash, and also about the various uses of the dash as a mark of punctuation. Yesterday evening, The New York Times suggested this article to me. I'm a little freaked out about the coincidence, given that I've literally never seen an article about the dash before, but I'm going to share it with you anyway. Here it is, at The Em Dash Divides.
