I'd like to open this post up to discussion of nuclear energy as a power source, in light of that documentary. On the one hand, Emma says that the discussion was overwhelmingly pro- nuclear energy, so you guys might want to discuss specifics of implementation (it's massively expensive, yes?). On the other hand, I've heard a couple of the teachers complain that the documentary itself was overwhelmingly pro-nuclear energy, without presenting the other side of the argument. So you might also want to discuss pros and cons, versus other forms of non-fossil-fuel energy.
I did not see the documentary. So here are two more directions I'll suggest to you:
1) If you DID see it, write some questions and comments--what do you want to talk about? Lay out the agenda, as if you were writing discussion questions and lecture.
2) Talk to me. I'm ignorant. What do I need to know about nuclear energy and related issues, in light of this documentary? I'll talk back.
